The HypnoBirthing Childbirth Method is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress-free birthing.   HypnoBirthing teaches pregnant women and their birthing companions the art and joy of experiencing birth in a safer, more comfortable manner.   Women
learn how to call upon their bodies¹ own natural epidural and thus eliminate the need for medication.   When a women is properly prepared for childbirth and when the mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same well-designed manner that it does with all other creatures.

You will be fascinated as you view HypnoBirthing videos showing laboring mothers, awake, alert and in good humor as they experience safe, gentle birth; free of the Fear ­ Tension-Pain Syndrome. HypnoBirthing teaches a woman how to release all prior programming about birth, how to trust her body
and work with it, as well as how to free herself of harmful emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and unyielding muscles.

HypnoBirthing helps women rediscover their natural birthing instincts, with most births requiring little or no intervention.   HypnoBirthing moms are aware and fully in control, but profoundly relaxed as they bring their babies into the world.

A four-day certification workshop; 8 hours per day; Cost: US $595; Certified
Hypnotherapists, US $320; Tuition includes one copy of the textbook,
HypnoBirthing- A Celebration of Life; a video tape of 5 HypnoBirthing labors;
2 audio cassettes; a 50 page course syllabus, with class outlines, scripts,
and demonstrations; four posters for classroom use; a packet of forms and
handouts; inclusion on our referral system; a discount on materials; and an
invitation to attend any HypnoBirthing Certification workshop, depending on

COURSE INSTRUCTORS

HypnoBirthing was founded by Marie Mickey Mongan an award-winning therapist
with over 30 years' experience in counseling and teaching on the college
level and in the private sector.   All instructors of the HypnoBirthing
Institute are named to the faculty by personal invitation only.   The
individuals who are chosen to serve as instructors are highly qualified
professionals who have distinguished themselves through education,
experience, motivation, and a dedication to the principles and philosophy of
the HypnoBirthing Childbirth Method.   Additionally, each must meet the
requirements as set down by the Executive Board of the HypnoBirthing
Institute.   Your attention to the course evaluation will ensure that this
remains so.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

ELISSA GARDE-JOIA, M. H.,
Clinical Hypnotherapist,

is a Certified Instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotherapists, where
she received her Advanced Clinical Certification. She holds a Mastery
Certification from The Healing Mind Institute and the LI Ericsonian Institute
as a Transformational Hypnotherapist. She is a Certified Instructor with the
HypnoBirthing Institute. A Neuro-Linguistic-Programming Practitioner,
international teacher and lecturer, Ms. Garde-Joia has private practices in
Brightwaters, and Syosset, NY, where she sees individuals, couples, and groups
